Yesterday when the boys and I met Joshua for lunch we noticed a HUGE yard sale being set up across the street from Josh's office. We decided to get up early and check it out. I found a jackpot of vintage fabric scraps and filled an old dry cleaning bag I found on the ground as full as I could before Josh had to declare it time up as he had to go to work. I was so inspired by our deals that I dropped by a multi-family garage sale on the way home.
Not pictured are a couple of kiddo books and some cookie cutters since my Carver likes his food cut into cute shapes. The dresser was free (FREE!!) and the rocker just needs a little wood glue and it will be fantastic. Its really quite comfortable and I don't think will even need a cushion (although it might be fun to make one anyway)
The best find of the day was the box of vintage scraps. Some were pretty small but I still just loved the fabrics so much I had to pile them in the bag. I figure they can still be usable somehow. They are fantastic!
Happy Garage Sailing!
Ooooooh, such wonderful finds! I'm especially jealous of your fabric scraps and food cutters. I used to love going to garage sales with my mom when I was growing up. I seemed to run out of luck with finding cool stuff a few years back, so I haven't been in a while. Maybe it's time to check them out again! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic dresser you found! Hopefully it came with the top drawer.
