Finished It Up Friday {#12}

Hello!  As promised, we're back!  For my own Finished It Up I would like to share this rice bag I made for my dad.  Its his birthday this weekend and the old rice bag I made him was getting pretty shabby.

Kinda fun.  Super easy.

Now its your turn for a little show and tell.

Finished It Up Friday (remember me?) and a vintage inspired star quilt

Oh yeah.  Remember this little linky party?

What with the whirlwind of summer time, I really barely did.

So sorry.  I really hate to be such a flake about things.  But really.  I have a firm belief that my bloggery has to come second to tending the little monkeys and, well... life really and so thus I have let a few bloggity things slip.

Like our linky here.  But never fear.  We're back.  Or at least we'll officially be back next week.

Okay?

In the meantime I have one little finished it up number to share with you today.  The same time over the summer that I made it to the long arm rental I quilted this beauty up as well.  Before Mady left for the summer she declared this to be her current favorite family quilt.

I must admit this is a favorite of mine as well.  Particularly because it is a design of my own.  And I'm a sucker for vintage inspired prints.

And then there's the matter of this little rascal who decided to be my photography assistant this afternoon.

So tune in next Friday for a chance to share your finished up projects..

See you then!

Finished It Up Friday {#11}

Happy Friday all!  This week I can't say that I have a finished project of my own to share but I did make some seriously respectable headway on my Sherbert Pips quilt which I'm hoping to have done by next week.

Last week we had some awesome tutorials link up.  I LOVE these scrappy bangle bracelets from Peekadot!  What a great idea and a fun way to add a little pop of color to an outfit.

Our other tutorial was this great link from Karen at Sew Much 2 Love for a zipper pouch.  I have seen so many great little zipper pouches around the blogosphere and this is a great tutorial if you're interested in making your own.

And now its your turn!

Finished It Up Friday {#10}

The quilt top is finished!  I'm calling it Rainbow Crossroads and it turned out perfect size for a picnic quilt.  Above you see my Carver testing it out.

The full front.....

Me and my boy and our new quilt (top).
Next step is to figure out the right back for it and to quilt it up.  Its small enough that I think I can quilt it at home on my Bernie.
I'm thinking its a good quilt for some straight line quilting.

Now its your turn!  Show of your creations from the week!

Finished It Up Friday {#9}

Single Girl Quilt Top

Thanks for all your kind words about my single girl!  It feels great to have the top done and to start thinking about quilting and backing and those finishing touches.  This week my husband decided his new plan to help with some weight loss was to just not be home in the evenings so we've been field tripping to the beach or for hikes in the mountains around here each night after he gets home from work.  This has left little time (or energy) for sewing so as you can see, no other work done this week!

We had some fantastic link ups last week!

This was a lovely link up by Oxford Impressions showing some straight line quilting.  I just love the bright colors, don't you?  And how about that cute little pooch?

And I loved these little girl baby gifts from Sew Much To Love
Really cute and great ideas if anyone has baby showers coming up!

Finished It Up Friday {7}

Good Morning!

Finally a Finished Up Friday I can participate in myself!

This week I finished up an order for my Etsy shop.  I love these little snugglers.  The fabric is so darn soft and its fun to have a good excuse to pull out my embroidery machine.

I love to see all the things people are finishing up each week.  I had to feature this linkup from Sew Much 2 Luv last week that made me laugh right out loud.  I loved this Spoct-opus!  Hilarious and so creative.

Well done everyone!

Finished It Up Friday {#6}

We had some wonderful link ups for Finished It Up Friday last week!

Beautiful work!

I LOVED these little pouches. So cute.  I need to make some of these to keep my tissues in.

In the meantime, I'm off to sunny Palm Springs for a weekend of fun with my five best girls.  We six were roommates in college and have remained sisterfriends ever since.  We've been planning this roommate reunion for about two years.

I can hardly wait!

Finished It Up Friday {#5}

Good morning!  With blogger down I wasn't sure if we were going to be doing a Finished It Up Friday today but just as we were heading out to the park, lo and behold, its up.

So while the chickens play in their room I'll post that I have yet again, not finished anything this week but I have started a NEW project which makes sense because I don't have enough already unfinished projects to work on. right?

Anyhoos, Thanks for those who linked up last week.  Its so fun to see what people are finishing up!

Here a little look at what we had last week!

Finished It Up Friday {#3} Stacked Coins Baby Quilt

Finished her up last night!

Ended up going with the free motion quiltary as it was quicker, simpler and didn't require me to line up my quilt top and the backing.

And I love a crinkly baby quilt.

Thanks to all those who linked up last week!

On to this week's fun!

Finished It Up Friday: A New Linky Party to Crash

I was thinking it might be fun to do a little Linky Party around here.

Just something to end the week and cleanse the palette.

And maybe cruise around for some more inspiration to get you going on your weekend?

SilverLily Likes to Sew

So let's get this going, shall we?

Come back tomorrow to join in on Finish it Up Friday.

Here's the rules:

1.  Link up with any post for the week showcasing a project you've finished.  If you're like me, you've got about twenty juggling around the WIP bin and I know if feels good to FINISH something

2.  Paste this here button on your blog post or sidebar

3. Visit the fellow crafter who linked in just ahead of you and leave some nice praise/encouragement/happy words about their Finished work.  Its just nice to spread the love, don't you think?

This is going to be my motivation to FINISH at least one thing per week.

And then the next week we'll feature one linky friend's finished projects.

How about that?

So come back tomorrow and let's get this linky party started, shall we?
